By increasing the Sensitivity setting for a specific trigger, that trigger will respond to lighter hits more forcefully. Whether the numeric value is low or high, if a pad is more sensitive, it will respond to a lighter touch. Warning: some brains use lower values to increase sensitivity while others use higher values. Pad sensitivity - By adjusting the input’s sensitivity, you’re setting a measurement of how sensitive the trigger is going to be. For example, if you’re mainly a soft player, then you may want to increase the sensitivity, so the lighter taps trigger more easily. If it changes it for the better or worse, maybe it will give you a clue.Īnd to round off the sensitivity debate, the definition seems somewhat vague: You can try my settings it might or might not help with the conversion. Same with the bell on the 3 zone ride.Lower the zone xtalk settings and the bell gets more forgiving to the off target hits.So in essence the zone xtalk is also relative to sensitivity and threshold you could say. Zone x talk is important too.For instance if the zone xtalk setting on the snare rim is at 7,you can't do a rim will only trigger the head or rim unless you hit it with a hammer. Sensitivity and threshold are relative to each other as well. Yeah the DM10 is a great little box really but its not exactly plug n play.Sometimes you luck out but usually, thre's a stiff learning curve. You need to learn the 's rarely something wrong with the unit.I know one time I turned the threshold to 0 and the snare started to trigger and studder by itself.Sometimes too, changing 2 digits on the x-talk send/receive balance can lose the rim or head no matter how hard you hit it. Is there a complete idiot's guide to the module that can clue me up at all I have no idea what piezos, switches, thresholds etc are so I'm screwed for trying to get my head around it by myself. I've updated the firmware to the most recent run from Alesis but I haven't touched any of the sensitivity/threshold/Xtalk settings as:ī) I'm not sure if Hellfire's guide applies to the DM10X Mesh kit, and My snare pad is mounted on a stand, so surely it can't be crosstalk from the hats or kick? I'm normally sat looking in utter confusion and disdain at either this forum or the manual, when the annoying frickin splash on my Tom4 rim will chirp up (albeit quietly).Īlso, my snare has started double triggering(?) even when I'm just playing a straight not-fancy 4/4 groove it's as if the module thinks I'm too boring, and wants to launch some unexpected backbeats at me to spice things up. The rim on one of my 12" 'floor' toms keeps triggering even when I'm not playing my kit. I'm getting some odd triggering from my kit even when I'm not hitting anything.
